Ashlee comes to Saratoga Parent Nursery School with an extensive background working with children and families. She spent several years working as a psychotherapist providing child and family therapy. Her passion for play-based early education comes from spending time at SPNS with her two sons and then being deeply inspired to pursue early education. She is thrilled to be giving back to this community she cares so deeply for.
Ashlee believes in creating nurturing learning environments for young children to allow them opportunities to explore, create, and practice problem solving. Ashlee is passionate about partnering with families and supporting their journey through their child’s early years.
She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with emphasis on child mental health from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree in Youth, Adult and Family Services from Purdue University. In addition, she is credentialed as a Lactation Educator Counselor by the University of California, San Diego. Ashlee is also a Music Together In-School certified teacher.
Ashlee is originally from Indiana, and made California her forever home in 2010. She enjoys hiking, live music and spending time outdoors with her husband, two sons and dogs.
Ashlee is the director and teaches the Music Together In-School program.
Teacher Alexis

Alexis has over twenty years of experience in the Child Development field. She has a degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State University. She has held administrative roles in the field such as Program Supervisor, Director and Curriculum Specialist.
Working with children is Alexis’ passion. It is rewarding for Alexis to figure out how to better care for and teach each child as an individual. She also believes in caring for the whole family, so getting to know families and bridging the home-school connection is important.
Alexis has two sons, one in high school and one in middle school. She loves to spend time at the beach, play board games and go to the farmer’s market.
Alexis teaches in the morning preschool program and afternoon Stay & Play class.
Teacher Lisa

Lisa has over thirty years of experience as a teacher of young children. She has been a teacher in various
preschools and worked in a number of community center preschool programs. She has been responsible
for creating and presenting curriculum and environments for preschool and school aged children
throughout the years. She most recently worked for a private nonprofit, play based preschool as the lead teacher and curriculum coordinator for the pre-kindergarten class. She earned an AA in Early Childhood Education from San Jose City College and holds a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.
Lisa enjoys providing a welcoming environment in which children are allowed to play, explore and experiment with a variety of materials, activities and peers. She knows that thoughtfully planned environments enhance each child’s growth – emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively.
To keep up with new research and ideas, Lisa enjoys attending workshops, conferences and online classes pertaining to Early Childhood Education. Lisa loves spending time with her family, which includes her husband, three grown children, five grandchildren and one cat.

Teacher Angie

Angelica, known to families as Miss Angie, brings over twenty years of experience in early childhood education to Saratoga Parent Nursery School. She has taught at several Bay Area preschools, including spending the last ten years at Village Preschool of Saratoga, where she was known for her “calm loving presence” and strong relationships with families.
Angelica believes in the importance of an engaging classroom environment where children feel safe to explore, play, and grow. She values close collaboration with parents and supports each child’s development with care and kindness.
She earned her B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development, graduating Magna Cum Laude from San Jose State University in 2022, and holds a current Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Angelica is fluent in English and Spanish, loves cooking/baking, going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her husband and her two young adult children.
