Kay Erikson is the Director as well as teacher of the 3’s and 4’s class. Kay was born and raised in Los Altos, earning her BA in history from Wheaton College.
While volunteering for the Woodside Parents Nursery School, Kay began her path as an Early Childhood Education teacher. Before coming to Saratoga Parent Nursery School, she worked at Mountain View Parent Nursery School and was Director of Carillon Preschool in Portola Valley.
As a believer in life long learning, Kay is currently in the process of earning her Masters in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University. Kay is always looking for new and creative ways to make play-based learning irresistible.
She lives in Portola Valley with her husband and two boys (ages 12 and 13), and two dogs, five ducks and one rabbit. In her free time she loves to cook and is a passionate collector of antique textiles.
Kay teaches the MWF 3’s and 4’s Class.
Prudence Kolano has been a teacher for 14 years, serving four and a half of those years at SPNS. In addition to teaching, she was also a co-op parent and board member at SPNS, while her first child was in the Mommy & Me, 2-Year Old and 3-Year Old classes.
Ms. Kolano was also an elementary school teacher for Kindergarten, First and Third Grades. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from UCSB and a California Clear Multiple Subjects Credential from Hayward State.
Teacher Prudence is an active board member of the Santa Clara County Reading Council from which she received the Meritious Service Award in 2013, and continues to be the Chair of the Young Writer’s Festival. She received an Honored Teacher award from San Jose State University in 2012.
Teacher Prudence grew up locally, graduating from Presentation High School (Just down the street from SPNS) She loves to hike, spend time at the beach and read and spend time with her two children.
Prudence teaches the Tuesday afternoon Learning Together Class.
Autumn Vandiver has been a teacher for nine years. She has both taught and served on the Board of Directors at Los Altos Parent Preschool. And she has designed, taught, and directed various youth fitness classes for the JCC or Palo Alto and JumpBunch. Autumn lives in Mountain View with her husband and son.
Teacher Autumn thrives in a learning environment. She is an avid writer and has written a parenting column for a local online newspaper. She continually attends workshops and seminars for writers. As a preschool teacher and parent educator, Autumn keeps her mind and her heart open when working with families,so she can create a community of learning and growing together.
Autumn teaches the Tuesday/Thursday 2’s Class.
