Autumn Vandiver has been involved in early childhood education for the past ten years. She served on the board of the parent participation preschool she attended with her son, worked as a preschool teacher’s aide and then lead teacher, was a youth fitness coach, and wrote a parenting column for an online newspaper. One of the highlights of her career has been developing and teaching a family fitness program, which takes the co-op education model into the gym and connects families together through exercise and was implemented in multiple fitness centers throughout the Bay Area.
Autumn particularly loves the parent education component of working in parent participation preschools and relishes the time spent connecting with families. When she is not working, Autumn spends time homeschooling with her teenage son and playing with her dog. She enjoys reading, writing, exploring nature, and getting messy with painting projects.
Autumn teaches the Tuesday/Thursday 2s Class.
Alexis Friedman has over 15 years of experience in the Child Development field. Working with children is Teacher Alexis’ passion. It is rewarding for Alexis to figure out how to better care for and teach each child as an individual. She also believes in caring for the whole family, so getting to know families and bridging the home-school connection is important.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, Teacher Alexis took many Early Childhood Education courses as she started her career in child development. She has held administrative roles in the field such as Program Supervisor, Director and Curriculum Specialist. After her first son was born, Alexis took time off of work and completed her Master’s degree in Child Development.
Alexis has two sons in elementary school. She enjoys being involved in their school and often volunteers. She loves to spend time at the beach, play board games, read and go to the farmer’s market as a family.
Alexis teaches the Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3s Class.
I am teacher Léa (like Princess Leia) and I am delighted to be joining the SPNS community. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family. My family relocated to California 2 years ago from North Carolina and we are loving getting to know this side of the countryside.
I have been working as an Early Childhood Educator for over 15 years.
I have had the privilege to teach in variety of classroom environments teachingchildren from birth to first grade. I believe that learning is a wonderful journey we share every day, and I am fascinated how children explore and discover in their own unique ways. Outside school I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy scrapbooking, doing crafts, reading and traveling.
It’s my desire to work collaboratively with you to provide a safe environment for your child to grow and become response citizens of the world.
Léa teaches the Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4s Class.
