Working with children is Teacher Alexis’ passion. She loves getting to know children as individuals. They all have different personalities, temperaments and motivations. It is rewarding for Alexis to figure out how to better care for and teach each child. She believes in caring for the whole family, so getting to know families and bridging the home-school connection is important to her.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, Teacher Alexis took many Early Childhood Education courses as she started her career in child development. She took on administrative roles such as Program Supervisor, Director and Curriculum Specialist. After her first son was born, Alexis took time off of work and completed her Master’s degree in Child Development
Alexis has two sons in elementary school. She enjoys being involved in their school and often volunteers. She loves to spend time at the beach, play board games, read, and go to the farmer’s market, as a family.
Alexis teaches the Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3s Class.
I am teacher Léa (like Princess Leia) and I am delighted to be joining the SPNS community. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and your family. My family relocated to California 2 years ago from North Carolina and we are loving getting to know this side of the countryside.
I have been working as an Early Childhood Educator for over 15 years.
I have had the privilege to teach in variety of classroom environments teachingchildren from birth to first grade. I believe that learning is a wonderful journey we share every day, and I am fascinated how children explore and discover in their own unique ways. Outside school I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy scrapbooking, doing crafts, reading and traveling.
It’s my desire to work collaboratively with you to provide a safe environment for your child to grow and become response citizens of the world.
Léa teaches the Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4s Class.
